The situation worsened as the country’s weather department issued an amber alert, indicating that rain-bearing clouds had enveloped most parts of the UAE. This warning extended until May 3, urging residents to exercise caution and follow safety measures.

In Abu Dhabi, waterlogging was reported on streets, while strong winds battered areas like Jebel Ali, Al Maktoum International Airport, Dubai Industrial City, Dubai Investments Park, and Jumeirah Village Triangle.

Preempting the challenging weather, Dubai Airports and local airlines had issued advisories the day before, warning passengers of potential delays at Dubai International Airport.
